Labor Day is one of our favorite major holidays here at Fireside Furniture, and one we always like to celebrate by holding a massive sale throughout our showroom. And after a long, hot summer, it’s also a great time to think about updating your home with some new furniture or decorative pieces.
And since fall is coming up, you may want to change up your home a bit to incorporate beautiful some fall colors.
Fall Color Palettes
Fall colors typically consist of muted and earthy tones such as brown, orange, green, and yellow. Many people find these colors calming and pleasing to the senses, and our Labor Day sales event is a great opportunity to add some of these to your home.
But remember, if you change one room in your house, make sure it blends in with the rest of your style.
Adding Fall Colors To Your House
There are several ideas you can do to update a room in your house. For example, if you’re working on a bedroom, add a fall-colored bedspread for your bed. Or in the family room, a brown colored couch would go great with a beige-colored carpet. One thing to keep in mind is that you might want to try to make one color of brown lighter than the other, to create a visually appealing and interesting contrast in the room.
In the living room, think about adding black or brown coffee tables or end tables. Additionally, purchasing a couch that has brown and orange in it is a great idea for fall, and it would also go with your new coffee table and end table.
Again, thinking of contrast, make sure you have paler colors if there are darker browns elsewhere in the house. For example, if you have dark brown cabinets, then you may want to change any couches you were thinking about buying to a different color than brown, such as a muted yellow. Otherwise, it might be too much of one color for your liking in the long run. (Remember, the furniture at Fireside is high quality and made to last, so you’ll be living with it for years!)
Decorating Multiple Rooms
If you decide to redo your whole house, make it simple. You can even get creative and mix a couple of colors to get the fall color you want. Whatever you decide to add, make sure white is your in-between. Darker colors will look great against white and brighter colors such as green, orange, and yellow will need to be toned down a bit. For example, darker furniture should be mixed with white furniture. If you decide to have an orange couch, then don’t do all orange. Purchase an orange couch with other colors on it, both lighter and darker, (for that ever-important contrast), will look nice.
Fall Colors and Home Décor
Putting together fall-colored furniture isn’t the only thing you can do to add a little fall to your lifestyle. You can add some accessories such as some orange flowers or maybe a yellow vase. Some beautiful fall paintings would look great as well, and you can do that throughout your home without having to worry about blending the colors with other things in your house.
Think Of Upcoming Fall Holidays
With Thanksgiving and Halloween coming up, fall is the perfect time to add some browns and oranges. Pumpkins make great decorations for a little while. Also, brown and orange wreaths look very festive as well, as do fresh flowers on those beautiful coffee or end tables you just got.
If you mix orange, yellow, brown, and green together, you will get a beautiful bouquet that’s perfect for the fall season.
Take Advantage of Fireside Furniture’s Labor Day Sale
Remember, you can use fall colors for just about anything in your home, but you just have to know the proper way to add them. Too much of a good thing can quickly overwhelm the aesthetic of the rest of your house, so choose carefully. But any way you choose to do it, remember that Fireside Furniture is having a massive Labor Day sale to help you update your look!
